Port Charlotte

In 2009, named the #1 place to retire by CNNMoney.com and one of the top three places to live and play golf by Golf Magazine, Port Charlotte continues to be a destination point for a leisurely and uncongested life. Situated midway between Tampa and Naples, Port Charlotte has a vast array of amenities; top-ranked medical facilities, outdoor recreation, theatres and restaurants.  Residential areas are generally single family homes nestled among an easy maze of canals and estuaries while still providing outstanding values for the housing market.

Port Charlotte has more than 165 miles of man-made waterways, many leading directly to the Charlotte Harbor or the Gulf of Mexico.  Charlotte Harbor and the Peace and Myakka rivers provide miles of shoreline to enjoy the hundreds of species of marine life.

Home to Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays’ spring training and the their High-A affiliate the Charlotte Stone Crabs, Charlotte Sports Park is a facility with approximately 6000 fixed seats and 1500 general admission seats where fans can enjoy America’s pastime. The park has a 360 degree concourse; a tiki bar and a children’s play area.  The park is a perfect setting for concerts, festival, shows and sporting events.

If shopping is your favorite past time, then head over to the Port Charlotte Town Center.  It is the largest enclosed mall in Charlotte County featuring over 100 specialty stores and major department stores such as Macy’s, Dillard’s, JC Penney and Sears. Other activities may include visiting the array of restaurants, boating, golfing or just enjoying the beach. A visit to the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center will provide opportunities to find craft shows, concerts, dances and civic events.
