North Port

The City of North Port provides a leisurely, relaxed country lifestyle while being the largest city in both landmass and population within Sarasota County.  Located between Tampa and Ft. Myers, North Port is different from its surrounding communities. With its approximate 58,000 residents, more than 10,000 are school children, making the median age around 40.

Enjoying the outdoors is easy in North Port with 26 parks and recreational facilities.  The Myakka State Forest, all of which is within the city limits, provides extensive trails for hiking and exploring.   North Port is also the home of Florida’s only naturally formed warm water mineral spring. Since the 1960s, the spring has functioned as a small spa with people traveling from all over the world to soak up the mineral rich waters.   Many believe the water has extraordinary healing powers and may have been Ponce de Leon’s fountain of youth.  Only 20 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico, North Port residents enjoy the beautiful beaches at Stump Pass State Park, Siesta Key, and several others on Manasota, Casey, and Longboat Keys.

North Port’s stretch of U.S. 41 is booming with retail, business and health centers providing the services and amenities necessary for the convenience and enjoyment of its residents and visitors.   All of which make North Port a great place to call home.
