Venice

It is often said the city of Venice is the best kept secret on Florida’s Gulf Coast.  The warm and friendly lifestyle makes Venice a great place to call home.  The quaint downtown showcases boutiques and locally-owned restaurants providing the perfect backdrop for an evening stroll at sunset.   For those wishing to spend time enjoying the sun, Venice provides one of the finest systems of public beaches. There is something for everyone; even the dogs have their own beach.

Explore the great outdoors on the biking and walking trails of The Venetian Waterway Park.  The parkway provides approximately 10 miles of waterfront view for recreational use.   At the northeast end of the park, you can visit the recently restored Venice Train Depot which once saw the arrival of travelers from such groups as the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, the U.S. Army Air Corp., the Kentucky Military Institute (KMI) and Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus.

The local Venice Little Theatre provides live stage performances and the Venice Symphony has concerts and educational programs throughout the year. On Saturday mornings, the Farmer’s Market displays locally grown fruits and vegetables and the freshest shrimp and seafood directly from the Gulf.
